Start 2017 with a healthy spine

If you are like most of the population of the Western world, the New Year signifies an exciting chance to start a new chapter in your life. Many of us begin each New Year full of enthusiasm and drive for our targets and goals and the changes you will make over the next 12 months.

If getting healthier is one of your goals, and if you’re reading this, it most likely is, you are in luck; you’ve come to the right place! But you must make the decision to commit to a healthier you, it’s a choice only you can make and no one else is going to do it for you. You are worth that commitment. There are professionals out there that can help with any aspect you are struggling with and Chiropractic is one of them.

Firstly, you all know the five key things that can help get you healthy and feeling great. These include eating well, drinking plenty of water, sleep, exercise and healthy mental and emotional lives.

Most people don’t know that chiropractic is the sixth thing that can really compliment all the others and accelerate your healing and feeling well.

Here’s an example:

A few years ago, a young lady we will call Mary, came to see me, after being referred by her doctor due to ongoing back pain.

Mary was a lady in her early 40’s, slightly overweight and following the birth of her children had developed back pain, which continued to worsen, affecting her ability to move well.

Mary wanted to spend more time with her children rather than just ‘living through the years’ as she felt she was doing.

With some gentle adjustments to help with the spinal restrictions that she couldn’t deal with herself. Alongside this she had some dietary advice (that is available to anyone online), and some much-needed motivation to keep going and work towards her goals. After three months of regular care Mary had lost 2.5 stone and was virtually pain free for the first time in six years. At this point she had taken up running again and after another three months was regularly taking part in 5km events. Mary continues to have regular chiropractic to help keep her spine healthy.

So, if you have included feeling healthier and happier in your New Year’s Resolutions, or want to work towards fitness or health goals for 2017, then add Chiropractic to your toolbox and help your body work better, move well, and feel great.
