Matt completes Great North Swim

Two weeks ago Matt Sutton, a chiro from our Emersons Green Clinic, completed the Great North Swim in Lake Windermere. He swam with Dean, one of his long term maintenance patients, who uses Matt's chiropractic care to enhance performance and help prevent injury. Matt completed the two mile swim while Dean managed to beat his own personal best on the six mile (10k) swim.

The Great North Swim, one of of the largest and most well established swim series in the UK, offers an unparalleled open water event experience. In fact, it is Britain's biggest open water swimming event and 10,000 swimmers flocked to the Lake District National Park to take part.

Matt said; " It was a beautiful day, really sunny and baking hot in those suits! Thankfully the water was 20C in Lake Windermere and the swim went off without a hitch. It was gruelling and the hour and 20 minutes of swimming for me was very challenging, thankfully the support was excellent." His patient Dean said; "Thanks for the pre-swim adjustments Matt, helped me smash my 6 mile personal best by 28 minutes! Nice work on your 2 miles too buddy!"

Great Swim will see over 20,000 swimmers compete in five events held in lakes, lochs and urban docks around the UK. Other events in the series include; the Great East Swim at Alton Water near Ipswich on 18 June, the Great Manchester Swim at Salford Quays on 2 July, the Great Newham London Swim, at the Royal Victoria Docks on 16 July and the Great Scottish Swim at Loch Lomond on 27 August.
