About Chiropractic

What is chiropractic?

Doctors of Chiropractic are trained to diagnose, treat, manage, and prevent disorders of the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, and muscles), as well as the effects these disorders can have on the nervous system and general health. They have a specialist interest in neck and back pain, but when they assess patients, they take their entire physical, emotional, and social wellbeing into account.

Chiropractors use a range of techniques to reduce pain, improve function, and increase mobility, including hands-on manipulation of the spine. Chiropractic care mainly involves safe, often gentle, specific spinal manipulation to free joints in the spine or other areas of the body that are not moving properly. These are known as 'adjustments'. Apart from manipulation, Chiropractors may use a variety of techniques including ice, heat, ultrasound, and exercise as well as advice about posture and lifestyle.

Chiropractic is a regulated primary healthcare profession. The title of 'Chiropractor' is protected by law and it is a criminal offence for anyone to describe themselves as a chiropractor without being registered with the GCC. All of our chiropractors are qualified and registered to practice.

About Chiropractic

At Willow Chiropractic we use the latest diagnostics to get to the source of your pain and carry out an in-depth consultation about your health and well-being. This includes a complete neuromuscular and chiropractic analysis that looks at your posture, your spine, and other painful areas to pinpoint where your problem lies.

Specialised X-rays may be taken if necessary to determine whether a spinal problem is contributing to your pain or symptoms. The results are then discussed so that we can customize a pain relief programme for you – without resorting to surgery or drugs.

So, whether your back pain is from an injury, traffic accident, stress, work, or playing sports, don't just put up with the pain, take action.

Arrange a consultation today with one of our qualified Chiropractors and start your journey towards a pain-free life.

Benefits of visiting a Chiropractor

As well as manual adjustments, Chiropractors are able to offer a package of care which includes advice on self-help, therapeutic exercises, and lifestyle changes. Although Chiropractors are best known for treating back and neck pain, which they do very well, patients also consult Chiropractors regarding a range of other, related physical conditions. Where appropriate, they may also refer you to our massage services to complement your chiropractic care.
