At the start of the year many people take the opportunity to evaluate their goals, and what they want in the year ahead. I’m normally not a big believer in sporadic resolutions, but firmly believe that becoming healthier is something we should always be striving for.

Health it not an all or nothing commitment. Often making small healthy changes to your normal routine can add up to make a huge difference in a short period of time.

Do you know what it takes to stay at your best? Most people have an idea, but would you have guessed all 6 on this list?

Here are 6 key components you can work on to move towards being healthier:

  • Water
  • Nutrition
  • Exercise
  • Sleep/Rest
  • Limit stress
  • Chiropractic

I see Chiropractic as an essential component of staying healthy. It is not only great at getting you out of pain, but for getting to the root cause of the problem, and restoring normal function to your spine.

This is essential as your spine protects your most important asset, your central nervous system. This is made up from your brain and spinal cord, which together control every function, organ and cell in your body.

As your body is exposed to the daily stresses of life; poor posture, sedentary lifestyle, lack of exercise, poor nutrition and emotional stress it takes its toll on your body leading to dysfunction in your spine.

This dysfunction can then affect the nerves, reducing your body’s ability to adapt and respond to these stresses leading to pain, muscle spasm, poor movement, reduced balance and poor posture, all of which can stop you from feeling your best.

So, if you are serious about making improvements to your health this year be sure to add chiropractic to your routine to optimise your health potential in 2017!
