Ria’s Story

Facing a sudden and alarming health issue, Rebecca woke up one morning with her right arm tingling and her thumb completely numb. Initially attributing it to an awkward night’s sleep on the sofa, she expected the sensation to return to normal. However, after a week with no improvement and the symptoms worsening, Rebecca decided to seek medical advice.

Her journey began with a visit to the doctor, who referred her to a physiotherapist. Following an MRI, the results revealed calcification within her top vertebrae, causing nerve compression. The next step was a referral to a neurosurgeon, with surgery suggested as the only solution. However, due to post-COVID NHS delays, Rebecca found herself on an indefinite waiting list.

Desperate for relief and facing daily challenges, Rebecca, a single mother with two active boys, was struggling. Her condition had forced her to give up activities she loved, such as running, cycling, knitting, crocheting, drawing, and engaging in sports with her children. Sitting, standing, and even sleeping became painful tasks, with pain radiating into her shoulder blade and down her back.

Painkillers prescribed by her doctors offered little solace. They caused grogginess, interfering with her ability to care for her children, particularly her eldest, who is autistic and often wakes up at night. Concerned about the long-term effects of masking her pain and potentially overexerting herself, Rebecca was hesitant to rely on medication.

A turning point came when Rebecca saw an advert for Willow Chiropractic on Facebook, offering a discounted consultation. Desperate for a solution, she decided to give it a try. Under the care of Dr. Lacey at Willow Chiropractic, Rebecca began weekly adjustments due to the severity of her condition.

Remarkably, within the first few adjustments, Rebecca felt significant improvements. Dr. Lacey’s holistic approach emphasized not just chiropractic adjustments but also changes in daily habits. Rebecca adjusted her sitting posture, stopped crossing her legs, and adopted better sleeping habits with a memory pillow and a small wedge.

The results were transformative. Rebecca experienced a remarkable improvement in her condition, regaining the ability to participate in activities she had been forced to abandon and improving her overall quality of life. Her journey with Willow Chiropractic not only alleviated her pain but also restored her vitality and ability to engage fully with her children.
