Sharon’s Story
“I have suffered from back pain since the birth of my first child nearly 12 years ago. Various GP visits, anti-inflammatories, pain killers had little or no effect and an MRI scan (finally after 8 years of suffering) showed dehydration of discs in my lower back. No treatment was offered, and I was told to just “keep active”. I was already a very active person, and activity was causing me intense pain!
A fall from a ladder earlier this year finally convinced me I had to do something. I started looking for a solution. I was physically broken and mentally it was affecting my statement of mind to the point I was on anti-depressants. This was not the person I wanted to be!
My first visit to the Bedminster clinic for my first examination was incredibly thorough. I booked my follow up with a small glimmer of hope. The follow up was enough to convince me this was the place for me.
The way my treatment was planned made perfect sense and I really liked that it wasn’t a “we’ll fix you and off you go” policy – this was a strategy to get me pain free and keep me pain free for the rest of my life. I signed up for an initial 12 weeks of twice a week treatments, which seemed at the time scary from a physical point of view and also financially (although Willow have been worth every penny it’s still a consideration when you have a family and house to pay for!), but I had been suffering for so long and I had such faith in Willow that my husband and I decided it was definitely worth starting the treatment.
I can’t say I “enjoy” the adjustments but WOW you feel so much better afterwards!
Within the first few visits I could already feel a difference and was amazed that Sadique found issues where I didn’t even know I had issues! Adjusting those areas in turn released other areas. Slowly, slowly I felt I was getting my body back!
I am currently having weekly treatment – one week massage, one week adjustment and it’s working really well for me. I’ve still got a long way to go and I want to get back to doing more keep fit which will definitely help. The best thing is that I can ride my horse again!
I’ve come off my anti-depressants as well as my mood was so much improved as my pain receded. A win, win situation all round! Yes I still wake up now and then with a stiff back, but I’m 47 and I’ve had over a quarter of my life living with chronic back pain – I’m still in the very early stages of getting it better, but it’s is SO much better. I use the stretches and exercises Willow have given me and they certainly help to.
My advice if you are thinking of coming “Don’t hold back, don’t look back. Get yourself to Willow, get yourself adjusted and look forwards!!”
