Sciatica is when the sciatic nerve, which runs from your hips to your feet, is irritated. Fashioned from nerve roots, they join together to form the largest nerve in the human body and feed each of your legs with messages from the brain and back again. This allows you to move your legs and walk, feel a sensation when something touches your leg and much, much more! In conclusion, it’s a very big and important nerve.

Sciatic nerve pain varies in intensity and frequency; minimal, moderate, severe and occasional, intermittent, frequent or constant. It can also be described as dull, achy, sharp, toothache-like, pins and needles or similar to electric shock-like shooting leg pain. Other sciatica symptoms may include burning, numbness and tingling sensations.

Sciatica is one of the most common complaints we treat on a day to day basis. Chiropractic is a great place to start when you have sciatica-like shooting pain or associated symptoms. Many of our patients tend to take painkillers to relieve sciatica, however, after coming to us, they are now pain-free and have stayed that way.

We are specialists in relieving sciatica.

By using the latest diagnostics to get to the source of your pain, we work out what the underlying cause of your sciatica is. This includes a complete neuromuscular and chiropractic analysis that looks at your posture, your spine and other painful areas to pinpoint where your problem lies.

The results are then discussed so that we can customize a pain relief programme for you – without resorting to surgery or drugs. Eventually, you’ll see long term improvement and injury prevention occur, rather than just masking the symptoms.
