Putting up decorations, carrying Christmas trees around, and running around trying to get everything prepared can all put stress on your body. When you put your body under too much stress, you’re more likely to injure yourself and experience pain. It could be something small that triggers it. You might reach too far to put the star on the top of the tree and you feel your neck tweak, or you might feel your back niggle as you pick up a box of decorations. These are warnings that your body isn’t coping and needs some extra support. So, how can you prevent injury?

There are different ways to prevent injuries, but chiropractic care is an amazing way to help prevent injury.

When should you see a Chiropractor?

You come into contact with so many stressors on a daily basis. When something causes you stress, your body has to make changes so that it doesn’t affect any functions. If your body is constantly under stress, then it can’t remove it fast enough. This is when it starts to build up and cause issues with your nervous system. Aches, pains, injuries, and niggles start to develop. It might go after a couple of days or only be every now and again, but this is your body showing you it’s starting to struggle.

You should come to chiropractic care before you have pain to stop stress and tension building in the nervous system. This helps to make sure that your body has the support it needs and doesn’t become overwhelmed. Chiropractic care helps your body to adapt to stressors in your environment.

What does a chiropractic adjustment do?

Chiropractors look for any interference in your spine (subluxations), and use a controlled, specific, force to reduce the effects of stress on your nervous system. Adjustments help your body to heal better by removing this interference from your nervous system. The signals that are sent from your brain to the rest of your body, and from your body back to your brain, are then clear and actioned correctly. Your healing processes start and the root cause of your issues is solved. If you’d like to find out more about what a chiropractic adjustment does, click here.

You want to be able to enjoy the Christmas period with your loved ones. If you’ve injured yourself or are experiencing aches and pains, it can take away some of the enjoyment. End the year in the best health possible by making sure that you attend your adjustments. If you’re new to chiropractic care, click here to book a consultation with one of our Chiropractors.
