Love milkshakes but hate the calorie content? Like the taste but not what they do to your hips? Then try this super quick and healthy alternative. What is it? A smoothie recipe that is great for a quick breakfast, or perfect for a post training boost. And even better, kids love it too!

Preparation time – 3 mins.

You will need

  • 5 frozen bananas
  • 2 tablespoons of vanilla essence
  • approx. 500ml cold water

Method

Mix all the ingredients together in a blender and blend for approx. 90 seconds. If required, add more water to ensure the correct drinking consistency.

Option 2:

Add 6 ice cubes to turn it into a frozen sorbet that kids can’t resist.

If you want a recipe that is quick and easy, cuts calories and also tastes great, then this is it. Simple, but oh so good! So, grab some bananas, freeze them, blitz them with some vanilla and be converted into to luscious milkshakes you can drink all summer long! You get the fresh taste of the banana, the cool, smooth, creamy texture and then just a little sweetness from the vanilla added to the mix. A great way to get extra fruit into kids, and perfect on a summers day!
