So the Olympics is over for another 4 years and we have come home with a record number of medals making it our most successful games yet. Did any of you spot the chiropractors hard at work behind the scenes in amongst all the amazing sporting performances?

Chiropractors were available as part of the Rio Olympics Medical Provision, working alongside other medical professionals available to the athletes. The treatment that they offer helped optimise the function and performance of many of these World Class athletes; it also helped deal with the incredible stress that they were under.

With just 4 holes remaining in the final of Olympic golf, Sweden’s Henrik Stenson took a break for his chiropractic adjustment. Stenson and Rose were the favorites at the start of the week and they were neck and neck going up the 18th. On the last hole Stenson dropped a shot and GB’S Justin Rose got a birdie to take Gold.

Many other athletes used chiropractic treatment at the Rio games, both to help them recover from injuries and to enhance their athletic performance. Usain Bolt, the worlds fasted man, made Olympic history by winning 100m gold for a third consecutive time and now has 9 Olympic golds. Bolt regularly has chiropractic treatment and he says; “as long as I’m in great shape, nobody beats me, for sure.”

So yes – chiropractic is great for getting you out of pain but please also remember that it improves your movement and performance, helping you to be the best you can be.
